St. Joseph: An Extra-Ordinary Ordinary Father

Guido Reni St Joseph and Infant Christ 1620 HermitageHere’s a new article posted over at the new Focus on the Family Dad Matters blog.

It’s a Christmas reflection on Joseph as a father to a very unique child and husband to a very special wife. It looks at Joseph as human father more so than as an ethereal character in the Christmas story.

An excerpt:

“We are told that young Jesus was fully obedient to his mother and father. Fatherhood is central in the Christmas story. Of course, the story of the Son of God has a father – the Father – central to it. But the story of the Son of Man also has a father central to it.

This means that fatherhood is a deeply divine and sacred thing.”
